Lost but never forgotten. It seems our furry companions leave a lifelong imprint in our lives. I still remember the day I got my first kitty cat Mischka, and the day I lost her 20 years later.

Having had 3 deaths of furbabies within the past six months has been pretty hard on me.  First my piggy (guinea pig) of 7 years, Jujubee passed away of old age. I was there with him in his last moments. Then the father of our sugargliders (Zeus) passed away in January of unknown causes. And now I've lost my Curry (sugarglider). She deteriorated in one week, and I couldn't do anything for her. She took her last breath in my hands.

So as I sit here with tears in my eyes, I remember the old adage that "life is short". Well if life is short for us humans, it's even shorter for our furbabies. That's why we have to sieze every moment we get to celebrate their love. Take that extra second which makes no difference to us, to pet them, and make their day.  Give an extra belly scratch or one more treat. We've been put on this earth to love each other, and sometimes in our busy lives, we take that for granted.

Working at home, surrounded by my furbabes, has been a dream come true for me. When I'm sitting at my desk making tags, I'll be ocassionally visited by a kitty or a ferret. Sometimes they'll even ask for permission to jump on my lap and just sit and look at me. Except for Pistachio... she just helps herself to anything she wants. After all, I was the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes, so she find she is no different from me. Talk about a gift from the world! My little baby girl which was orphaned by her furry mom, and bottlefed by me since she was 5 days old. I remember her falling asleep sucking on my bottom lip after being bottlefed, and the gluttony with which she would suckle on her bottle. Truly a gift. My life really changed that day.

Well I could just go on and on talking about how I feel, but I think I will quit for now, and go give my babies some love.
